12 Bell Contest Final. Gt St Mary's Church.

The finalists  are confirmed, so is the local ale and the Cambridge Blues are ready to host the 2018 National 12 bell striking final. I watched from a pew in the church, with coffee and cake, rather than climb the steep, stone staircase to the bell tower. From the original 19 teams from across the country, the winners were, Birmingham 1st, Cambridge 2nd and The Ancient Society of College Youths, 3rd.  This is a London based Society which provides bell strikers for St Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey. Lovely to hear the bells ringing out across the city. There was more good music from some young buskers by the market square. See extra.
