Norham

Morris dance gig this afternoon at the Norham church fete.
Norham is the second most northerly village in England, with its neighbour, Horncliffe, taking the laurels. Both sit on the south bank of the Tweed, and so it's only the curve of the river that decides which one gets the "most northerly" crown.
It is, however, Norham which has the crossing point with the bridge over the river to Ladykirk. Norham also has a castle at the east end, and viewed from the air, the mediaeval pattern of the village layout can be seen. Go find it on Google Earth!

The pic is the weather vane on the village green.
