Summer Solstice Sunrise: Cables & Chimneys
Been without any internet connection since Wednesday, as "good old BT" (Bloody Terrible) completely messed up my ""free"" upgrade from copper cable to fibre internet.
Originally ordered for completion on 23rd May, I finally have had to have the senior engineer out to my home first thing this morning, who finally resolved 'the lack of skillsets required' by all those before him. Photos literally whizz up in milliseconds now though, rather than tens of seconds.
Of course, it's OpenReach who undertake such improvements, rather like Railtrack when we blame the train companies, but it was blinking annoying and frustrating, with so many differing opinions, resolutions offered - with the slight smell of onus on you, dear customer, that YOU have set it up wrong.
Anyways - I couldn't and didn't want the sheer hassle of the ever increasing rules, regs and sheer numbers of a traditional Stonehenge trip, BUT this fine row of Edwardian houses does have a relevance - Time Team's Phil Harding lives right at the top of this road - true TT has long been away from our screens now, (repeats are readily available) but he is still active and can often be seen seen walking into town, always with THAT hat and a look of detached indifference about him.
He's a pleasant fellow, I'm sure, but he's as far away from screen idol that you're ever going to get and so keeps himself very much to himself.
Despite the sun not actually appearing in this shot, it is some half hour AFTER the Stonehenge revellers would have cheered in theirs - it looks up quite a steep hill and if I had waited, it would have just been a diluted whiteness by then. And, it was chilly.
Oh, and you also get a free comet too - no, it's just one of the many plane trails as someone thinks they're going to get better weather elsewhere...
