Not Lichen
I went to Swineside today to photograph lichen on a sheep fold that really does have some good examples on it. So twenty minutes each way in the car, followed by half an hour each way of brisk walking. I spent an hour and a half taking pictures in sets of ten with the macro lens, then an hour and a half at the PC focus-stacking in Photoshop. And I haven't one picture I am happy with. Right, that's the moaning out of the way.
On the way there I spotted this cotton grass on Mosedale Moss. Good thing I stopped to photograph it or I'd have been stuck with a bunch of dusty old not-quite-all-in-focus lichen. Put up a snipe too.
It looks so much better large.
