Magdalene Bridge

First visit to Cambridge, and we took a punt ride! Hadn't quite realised that you are required almost to lay down in the punt, which was fine if not elegant, but oh dear, getting up  and out of the punt again was not a pretty sight!

We had a super punter called Jordan, full of history, and fun anecdotes. He told us afterwards that it had been his first professional punting job. It didn't show, he was excellent, and very understanding of my dilemma in the bottom of the punt!

This is taken from Magdalene Bridge, adjacent to Quayside, the site of the first crossing of the Cam, and how the city came to be named. The cast iron bridge was built in 1892 and rebuilt in 1982.
