Bow Riding

Jane and Kim picked me up at 7.30am and we went down to North Kessock for an early morning wildlife watching. We had heard that there were Fin whales by the bridge last night and wondered if they might still be there or gone back out to sea. Normally a deep sea whale so seldom seen in the Inner Firth. No sightings of the whales but lots of seals who eventually rested on the sand banks.I wonder if there is plenty of food available at the moment, schools of herring have been noted earlier in the year. The whales have returned tonight so hope they’ll be alright.
We had spotted a dolphin too but in the distance. I had not seen the boat pictured before and thought it looked interesting.Only noticed the bow riding dolphin when I looked at the photo.
We went to Fortrose cafe for a coffee and cake on the way back, very nice :)
Still plenty of baby birds in the garden even in the pouring rain.
