Unexpected Tools

While visiting Claire we picked up an old cooker from the old house on her land. She's planning to demolish that house anyway and with a bit of luck we can replace the faulty cooker in our Red House, seen here.
As always the job was more complicated than it should have been. The cooker proved very difficult to move out. Once we realised we had to remove the skirting board to get the cooker out it went a lot more smoothly. When we did get it out It was very grubby on the previously hidden sides. Much hot water and scrubbing were required. The "new" cooker had a plug: the "old" cooker was wired in directly. The "new" cooker had 5 wires to connect; the "old" cooker had four.
At that point I realised my knowledge was insufficient to complete this job and everything was put back as it was.  We need an electrician here so it is fortunate Claire's son is an electrician!
Now we have to pause the job because we have friends staying in the Red House for the next three weeks but once the house is empty we'll return to the fray.
