Back in the land of Oz again
Just landed after yet another epic set of flights. That's twice in just over 4 weeks (and in-between included a week in Mallorca, and a couple of days in Oslo). Just think of all the air miles :)
But another trip to Oz can only mean one thing. Competition time!
Aircraft Seat Battleships
OK - this is a new competition, based on battleships and aircraft seat allocations.
I was trying to get a Perudo based competition, but that wouldn't be fair as Goretex would definitely loose...("Cup of Shame....Cup of Shame....In the Bag...Dans la Sac...")
What we have to think of is the aircraft seat map as a large battleships grid. I will then be placed on that grid four times (four flights). You have then to guess my seat row and position on each flight (e.g. 17F).
I will then award points based on the distance you were away....
So using the example above, if you guess 22C, you would be 5 rows out and 3 columns out. Now that may give you a score of 8 (5 + 3), but if we play advanced rules - that may score 5.83 (absolute distance based on Pythagoras)
So the idea is to get the LOWEST score over the four flights.
But as usual...there is a twist. If you get right "column" (ie the seat letter), you get a bonus of -5 (remember you are trying to get a low score). If you get the right row, the bonus is -10 (there are more rows - so this is harder).
Lastly - if you get a "direct hit" on the battleship...you get an automatic prize of a packet of TimTams....and -20 points towards your overall score.
There shall be the usual final prize of a hoard of TimTams...
I'm going to give you the flight numbers - but NOT the aircraft type - that would be too easy. You should be able to find the available seat maps from the flight number alone.
Good Luck
