A Master of Forward Planning
It's a lupin that I'm just about to deadhead.
Why a Master of Forward Planning I hear you ask
Because by the time the flowery bits have opened at the top of the spike, the bottom has already turned into seed heads. I've never yet seen a full grown lupin that has flowered all the way up.
Not only that, once a seed head drops off, it burrows into the soil in a flash, I know because I saw one drop this morning and when I bent to pick it up it had vanished.
Some companies could do with studying the planning abilities of the lupin.
