Sleeping Solo

A waxeye that has no mate must sleep alone.

Praying Mantis Report: today, during a brief period of sunshine, I caught sight of a praying mantis in the bare lilac bush above my head. I recognised her immediately as one of the old dears that left the greenhouse. She’s the one with the broken antenna. There has been no sign of the others. The two that stayed in the greenhouse are still there.
