When I took the focus stack of the plant the other day I noticed a few aphids crawling around. The plant is now thoroughly infested with the little beasts. I think it needs to go outside where the aphids might get eaten by some ferocious ladybirds. Anyway, another opportunity to play with focus stacking. This time I used the bellows and a Zeiss microscope lens to get about 5x magnification (see extra). It's all manual so I had to move the setup on the focus rail which works reasonably well. The aphid wasn't sitting still though so some cleaning was required. Anyway, pretty pleased with the results given the constraints. They do look pretty cool though.

Otherwise a grey day which was reasonably busy.
