Uncanny Valley

There is an observed phenomenon concerning our reactions to things that resemble people. The more something looks like a person, the more positively we react to it - to the extent that, when a robot becomes indistinguishable from a person, we treat it exactly like a person - even if we know that it is not a person. But there is a point, when something is nearly, but not quite, human, when we are just freaked out.

The new guy seems normal. He seems nice enough. But he just freaks me out.
