No not K......... the bombs he is stood by were both designed by Barnes Wallace famous for the bouncing bomb that destroyed some of the German dams during the Second World War. These huge bombs were classed as earthquake bombs and were deliberately dropped near to the target to set off an earthquake type reaction that would destroy the foundations. The biggest of these bombs was the maximum a Lancaster Bomber could carry. As awful as this is in terms of warfare, today’s weaponary bears no comparison.

The extra is one of the ‘bouncing bombs’ as dropped by the dam busters - 617 squadron. Having always loved the portrayal of Guy Gibson by Richard Todd in the film, I was a little disappointed to discover he was actually a not very nice character!
