Medieval Stained Glass
We're spending a couple of days exploring Norwich: a really lovely city in our experience so far. This afternoon we enjoyed a guided tour of the Guildhall. So much to see there - much dating from Tudor times - and much, older still. These stained glass windows are medieval, probably surviving simply because they weren't in a church building, so weren't destroyed by Cromwell's army. (Oliver Cromwell was a local man.)
Have a long list of more to see tomorrow - with a tight schedule! But we finished the afternoon with a lovely walk alongside the River Wensum - so hot, it was good to find some shade. My Extra shows a family of swans - including seven cygnets - hovering among the boats. Perhaps they were hoping for food-scraps?
