Dry run!

I had a dentist appointment this morning, just a check up, the last for a while.  My dentist is unnervingly handsome, like a film star.  He's so kind too, he said to come back or call at any time if I'm worried about anything while I'm being poisoned.

Next stop, the hospital for 'the chat', taken through a health questionnaire, blood test etc.  Side effects explained, stay away from busy places, sick people, wash hands, wash hands, wash hands.  Neutrophilia carries risk of sepsis, life threatening blah blah blah.

The oncology nurse also looked at my veins and it seems they're not up to the job.  They'd be okay for one, maybe two, cycles but unlikely to stay the course.  I'm going to have to have a line inserted for the duration.  It will involve weekly visits to check the line and change the dressing.  It will make the infusions and blood tests easier, allegedly, but also carries its own risk of infection.

Someone remind me why I am doing this?
