Western Blue Bird

Female. Looking at having another brood before summer. This particular pair (see extras) have had their nest box moved around. This is against the law, and our people manage these boxes with volunteers. It's always disturbing to them when this happens. We were sure they were going to leave the next after one successful brood of 4 chicks. However, they are back, rebuilding the nest, and getting ready to try it again.

The weather here has been un-normally cool, especially for June. We think this has a tremendous affect on all breeding species of birds.

Second photo is the male and it may be there are eggs already laid.
