Royal Flush
My Dad is currently using up some of his National Insurance Rewards Points by spending a few nights in the luxurious surroundings of the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Today I visited him and spend an hour at his bedside, amazed by the comings-and-goings on the ward. The two highlights that really stood out, however, were :
1. a man being fitted for a commode in full view of the whole ward - during visiting hours (he had his pants on thankfully).
2. another "patient" who has been on the ward for 10 days - he sits in the corner, fully dressed, speaking in broken English with a Neapolitan accent. He has confided in my Dad that he is wanted by the Mafia and is hiding out in the hospital (honestly - I'm not joking - this actually happened).
I wasn't really thinking about a Blipfoto entry today but then the ultra-Victorian stairwell in the Surgical Block caught my eye. I had to use my front facing iPhone camera so apologies for today's ultra low-res Blip - but I thought the view straight up the oval stairwell was too good to miss.
