End Ocean Plastics

‘Ditch all disposables’ is one of the random acts of wildness in the Wildlife Trust 30 Days Wild App. The app contains over 100 wildlife activity ideas and I am following some of the suggestions.

Today the Preston Greenpeace Group took their ‘End Ocean Plastics’ campaign to the People’s Festival in Preston and asked the people taking part, and the general public, to sign their petition. People are really beginning to understand the problems caused by packaging and by single use plastics and they want to do something about it. The plastic ends up in our oceans and the stomachs of marine wildlife, and we know that it is making its way back to our plates in seafood and salt.

The suffragettes were well represented at the festival and the young women, and the men, were keen to sign the petition. They talked about the efforts they are making to remove disposable items from their lives.
