dublin's fair city

Left home at 4.30am and have walked around Dublin for most of the day. Here is one of my favourite photo-opportunities - the Spire of Dublin, officially called the Monument of Light, which is a stainless steel needle in the middle of O'Connell Street, 121 metres tall. It was completed in 2003 at a cost of 4 .illion.euros.

In front of the spire is the statue of Jim Larkin, trades union leader, and on the left you can see the Irish flag on top of the Post .Office.

As you can see, it has been a lovely sunny day.
