Still life

We had a very pleasant dinner last night for our annual arts society dinner, it is a thank you from the chairman and society to the committee members for our voluntary work which we do all year so it was a very nice treat.The pub had a private dining room and it gave us some privacy for speeches etc. The food was excellent too.

This morning was the usual Saturday morning of chores - Gavin got a puncture driving home from work yesterday and so his car had to be taken to the tyre place to get fixed. His car doesn't even come with a jack or spare tyre, just a special pump to pump the tyre up so you can drive to the nearest garage - I suppose the car manufacturer assumes no one bothers fixing their own puncture these days!

We were very pleased that Adam got good enough results to be admitted on to the masters course next year, so he is very relieved about that. Then the doctorate and research to follow, so he will be at university for a very long time...

I was given these beautiful flowers by a friend when she came for coffee the other day - and they smell heavenly too.

I have just caught up and watched the second episode of Master of Photography, I loved that image of the girl with her four large dogs. The judges seem to be making fairer decisions this time, and I agreed with most of their comments.
