Boy becomes Man

What a great evening.  We celebrated our youngest nephew's 18th birthday with family and friends - complete with better weather than might have been expected after storm Hector swept through earlier in the day.

Joe's usually quite reticent about having his photo taken but the opportunity to borrow his older brother's Ray-Ban's, combined with a few legal drinks, had mellowed him considerably.  Luckily for him his 'A' level exam schedule didn't include sitting tomorrow, though one of his friends had a sociology exam in the afternoon.  At various times in the evening she was challenged with questions and passed admirably, despite the steady consumption of alcohol!

It's been a privilege to watch each of our three nephews grow into young men.  We saw each of them on the first day of their lives, many times during their growing years and now all as adults.  They are a credit to the close bond of family and the loving support of Mum and Dad.
