White Ermine Moth
It was wild over night and into early morning, a gust of 82mph was recorded on the fell behind us. Lots of branches down and a carpet of leaves this morning.
This little fellow was sheltering inside our flyscreen, this picture is after I eased him outside when the weather calmed. Theyre a moth I remember from my youth, but now they are a Priority Species on the UK Biodiversity Plan.
Then this afternoon à visit to Blackpool to visit a sick relative, the reason not yet identified, but the hospital staff doing a very thorough job of looking after him. By the time I got back the weather had returned to glorious.
