What a great idea!!

The Riparian Preserve at Gilbert was an area of desert scrub about 10 years ago. Then the city fathers had the brilliant idea of recycling the waste water from the city of Gilbert to create a wetland habitat.
It is now a haven for wildlife with more than 300 species of birds recorded there - and it attracts birdwatchers like me by the score. This is a great egret about to pounce on an unsuspecting fish.
Why don't more forward-looking cities and towns do this kind of thing?
