After Storm Hector !

This was the scene this afternoon, when the storm had more or less ceased. During the morning debris was being blown across the field here, birds were trying in vain to fly into the wind and the young trees in the garden were bending over. After lunch a group of c.30 gulls. ( black background and herring ) were sitting on the field , facing the rather lighter wind, looking as though they had at last found somewhere to rest.
