I went for a before-breakfast walk in the sun through Christ Church meadow. But it was the court buildings on the way home that caught my eye.
These elegant buildings were constructed in the 1930s as showrooms for Morris motors, manufactured in Cowley at the edge of Oxford. The car plant has long since been taken over and updated and is now used to build BMW's 'mini' which, for marketing reasons, they like to pretend has something to do with the mini built on the site when it was Morris Motors.
