Blinds and Backdrops

A few days ago I blipped my intention to order one black and one white roller blinds to use as studio backdrops.  Today they arrived!
 
What good is a blind with a 2.43m drop when the chain supplied does not allow it to come all the way down as it is only 1.8m long????  (The ‘join’ in the chain does not pass through the keep otherwise there might be little problem.)
 
A quick phone call should have resolved the problem with an apology and the correct chain in first class post – but NO!  The operator at Wilsons insisted that the chain sent was correct as they had to provide that length because of ‘Health and Safety’ to protect children!!  She would not accept that the short chain made the blinds as supplied not fit for purpose. This seriously annoyed me as having been involved in Health and Safety for most of my working life I have found such misrepresentation of the H&S laws/regulations is behind so many people disregarding them!
 
A suitable snot-a-gram has been sent to Wilsons and we await the reply!!!
 
Otherwise the blinds look great – I hope that I do not have to send them back.
