Frozen Fern Frond

This is not the picture I planned to blip today, but Mr A has blipped one very similar to the one I was going to use. I have posted mine on Flickr instead and you have this fern frond which is covered in frost. If you look large you can see the frost better.

I did look for ladybirds this morning, as the only time I seem to see them is when it is cold, but there were none hibernating in our Rose of Sharon seed heads; I will keep looking.

Mr A tells me that the temperature went down to minus four degrees Celsius in the night and the frost in the garden seems to support this. It has been cold most of the day and now it is now raining.
