At the library...

Wednesday morning is my volunteering shift. I belong to a group of about fifteen volunteers who help keep a branch of the local library open. We are based in the local supermarket. We have about 500 books of all kinds, including a very small English section! we usually work in groups of three, but this morning, when I arrived there, there was nobody! I thought my fellow volunteers would come in a short time and, as the first reader arrived, I started working and forgot about them. About an hour and ten people later, I realised I was still on my own! Luckily our readers are lovely and nobody is ever in a hurry! Actually, they come for a chat as well as for taking a book! Other three volunteers, at the supermarket to do their own shopping, came and went and each of them helped me for a while, but for the vast majority of my shift I was alone. A lot of people came today and my shift ended with 20 books out and 17 in.

My busy day has not finished yet, with work in the afternoon and in the evening, finishing late, as usual. Just a quick trip in the garden before it started to rain to capture one of my newly sowed calendulas with a lovely little guest!

Hope you’re having a lovely Wednesday!
