'Outback Service Station'
Melbourne Cup Long Weekend - Day 5
Today was our longest drive for the whole time, we left the cabin this morning at around 9:45am with about a 5 or 6 hour drive ahead of us back to Melbourne.
First stop was at a pub in Mildura to put on our bets for the Cup and as we usually do on this weekend every year, listen to the race on the radio somewhere on the way home from a weekend away. None of us picked any winners this year, but then again we weren't gambling for sheep sations either, just a couple of bucks as a bit of fun.
This shot was taken at a Service station at Hattah about 25km north of Ouyen. It had a great outback feel to it and the colours were just great to photograph so we had to make a quick stop just to get our blip for the day.
As we got nearer to home the weather started turning cooler and the rain began to fall. We could see lightning strikes in the distance and finally we started to drive into rain about and hour and a half from home. By the time we arrive home around 5pm it was pouring down, so the unpacking of the car had to wait until the rain eased off.
Backblips are all here.
