Daddio

A lovely meal out this evening to celebrate dad turning the age of a famous Beatles song.  What a wonderful man my dad is. Here's to another year of climbing hills and drinking beer together.

With much prodding and nudging from everybody else at the table I plucked up the courage to go and say hello to my A Level Psychology teacher who was out enjoying a meal with her family and didn't need to be hassled by ex-students. However, as she was one of my greatest teachers and the reason I went on to study Psychology at University, I thought a 'thank you' was a worthy interruption. She wasn't brilliant because she was uber friendly, in fact she was fairly intimidating, but she loved her subject and taught it with passion. I'm only sorry that my university lecturers didn't live up to the high standards that she set.

Impressively, she came over at the end of her meal to say that she'd finally remembered my name. Super impressive, not only because it was nearly 20 years ago, but mostly because I was the most unremarkable and unnoticeable student during my college years. Good teachers notice even the dull ones at the back, it seems.
