POO PONDS

This area of Christchurch is well known ( world-wide) as a very good area for settling the Cities sewerage but it also give sanctuary to a lot of the estuaries wading birds. The ponds are adjacent to the Estuary. When released to the sea ( about 5 K's out ) one is supposed to be able to drink the contents of the settling ponds - I've never tried it myself - I'm not sure if I've ever seen anyone do it.
We've had a lot of drizzle last week or so and this picture shows off this aspect of the weather.
