Friendiversary
I love everything about Bonfire Night. Aside from Christmas, I think it's my favourite holiday. The smell of bonfire tangled in your hair, the glow of it kissing your cheeks, mittens and muddy shoes and the squeaking of cooked onions climbing into a burger bun.
I didn't get to celebrate it last year - after the Dreaded Ramble (where I fainted, threw up in a taxi, got kicked out of said taxi and dumped in a Tesco car park and was taken to A&E in a police car) I missed out on going to see the fireworks by the castle. Sian and I have christened it our Friendiversary, as it was the first of many trials that she has had to guide me through in the year that we've been truly, truly friends.
Sian packed a rucksack full to the brim with our cameras, falafel wraps and flasks of whiskey and lemonade. We braved the rain and were rewarded with clear skies and the most beautiful and breathtaking display of fireworks I have ever seen.
Happy Friendiversary, Sian!
