Still hanging on.........

..................into November and disturbed by the workmen last Saturday, this Dahlia is still putting on a brave show. The outer petals are showing signs of wear and tear so I have cropped it quite severely towards the centre otherwise - sooc.
This is one of the very dark leafed ones and I have noticed there has been no slug damage - whereas the paler green leafed ones had the usual nibbling. Will try some more dark ones next year and see if the same thing happens again.

Weather dull and cloudy - such a change from yesterday which was really lovely. (As they say "what a difference a day makes" !)
