love is in the little things

Yesterday, hubby and I celebrated 41 years of marriage. Since it was not a milestone year (like last year was), we kept it simple, just a movie and dinner. (Yes, we're old so we went to a matinee first and then early dinner).
The little things that made the day so lovely were that both our daughters called to congratulate us, and a day earlier our daughter who lives in town brought over these flowers for the occasion. She knew that her dad always brought me flowers  on special days, but now that he has Huntingtons Disease he can't. I think strong marriages make strong families, and strong families keep strong marriages going!
