Three of a Kind
We have had a wonderful day at the Farne Islands.
The catamaran took us all around the different islands, I had not expected such marvellous shaped rocks and of cause they were full of birds thousands of them they say 84000 breeding pairs..
This is the best time to see the birds as they are nesting now, the ones on these islands were mainly Razorbills ,Guillemots. Then we went on to another Island and there not only what we had just seen, but puffins too.
The boat then landed for an hour. 'P' would not be able to walk so he stayed on the boat and had a good chat with the crew.
So many Terns were nesting just at the edge of the path. They bombarded us as they were protecting there partner on the nest. Then we saw lots of puffins. I also saw and took an image of an Idea Duck.
I have many images to yet process, but I like this one of three puffins
