A Learning Garden
There has been a very big push in Australia for schools to create, manage and teach sustainable gardening to their primary school students. This means, irrelevant of where they live, they have the ability to grow and nurture plants, gain an understanding of where food comes from, and in the majority of schools they link this to studies on nutrition and cooking classes using the ingredients the students have grown. It's brilliant and can even be linked to subjects such as maths and science.
So how does this link to my blip you ask?
This is the fence around the outside of the inner city Albert Park primary school garden. The 'poles' have been shaped and painted to replicate coloured pencils. I saw it from a distance and had to investigate! It, like the garden, is great!
