I am a failure.

Every year Mrs. K. makes a cake for my birthday.

Tomorrow is Mrs.K’s birthday. Sadly she has had to bake and ice her own cake. She would not trust me to make a good job of it.

Nobody ever bought me a book like this one. I can make traybakes and biscuits. And I am brilliant at M and S microwave shepherd’s pie.

Do you think at my age it is too late to learn?
