Thistle Down

A Path

There is a path,
Forever hidden through the years.
And still I tread on it,
Even though my time is near.

I look in visionary form,
At the fancy of it all.
And in the distance far away,
There is a lingering call.

That brings a thought to mind,
About those years in youth.
When I went forth to live and learn,
To harness well...the truth.

When experience was the teacher,
And I took it to my heart.
When in innocence I learned,
Of that vast and treasured part.

Making that glorious pathway,
Which opened up to me.
A great and glorious treasure,
That I look now to see.
