Do something, please

Wherever you are, please find someone with some kind of power--an elected leader or representative, a wealthy person with influence, a spiritual leader, a journalist, a union officer, a community organizer; or an organization such as Amnesty International, the ACLU, the UN, any group to which you have ever given money, or supported with volunteer work: tell them about the violence being committed on the minds and bodies of children in the USA.

Here is a sample text:

Terrorizing children is insupportable. Incarcerating children in facilities where their health and safety cannot be guaranteed, where they are surrounded by strangers, and where their parents cannot find them is unacceptable. Urge the USA to stop its practice of separating children from their parents and labeling the parents as illegal when they arrive in the USA seeking asylum and refuge. Do all you can to persuade the US Congress to stop funding the abuse of children and to return all children to the custody of their parents immediately.

Do what you can. Start a petition, as DHThomas did, or sign his petition. Make a phone call. Send a text. Post something anywhere you post things. If all of us do whatever we can, maybe someone, somewhere will listen. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look at yesterday's blip.
