Framework
Two events today.
A large scale conference to launch the New National Performance Framework - agreed by local authorities, the Scottish Government and the Scottish Parliament.
It sets out what Scotland wishes to achieve by way of outcomes and should drive all that we in the public and private sector should seek to achieve. At its heart are a set of values including kindness, compassion, dignity and respect for the law.
The 11 outcomes now include being loved, safe and respected. And the purpose has been modified to include inclusive economic growth and wellbeing.
It was an international event with speakers from Canada, Slovenia, the OECD and UNITAR. Alex Mejia ( Equador) was speaking just after lunch got us all to stand up, raise our hands and shout “Scotland”. An exercise repeated at the end of the day with the Scottish Governemnt Permananet Secretary present - see extra.
The event was opened by the First Minister and had various other speakers all of whom were recognising the development of the outcome approach introduced a decade ago.
Then on to Dalkeith to meet Panel and AST members to recognise their contribution as volunteers to the system. Some marking 5, 10, 15, and in one case 40 years involvement in the system. Huge commitment and dedication.
