Gold Dust

Today's the day ............................. to flower beautifully

The new streptocarpus that I treated myself to at last year's Tatton Show  is flowering beautifully on the kitchen windowsill.

It is called 'Gold Dust' - which is a perfect name for it.  Once the flower has been open for couple of days, the lower lobes change from pure gold to speckled gold on a deep purple background - just as if someone had sprinkled gold dust on them.

It's described as being '............ An exceptionally free flowering variety with upright foliage and a long flowering season of over eight months'.  So I can look forward to it being beautiful for quite a while ......................
