A Very Disappointing Butterfly Survey This Week

I didn't see a single butterfly this week on my butterfly survey and haven't seen any in the garden for the last few days either. I know that the numbers decline for a few of the species in June as the overwintering adults die off and the next brood have yet to emerge, but I would still have expected to see some butterflies.  I hope this is just a blip and not a more serious trend :-(

I did see a pair of Black-tailed Skimmers and a lot of grasshopper nymphs (which I haven't been able to identify yet).
