Trilobite Beds

Well, this morning it was raining steadily. We met up with our guide who said snow was forecast for higher up. Great.
It was a pretty stiff climb, but as the path became steeper and harder we started to see trilobites in the shale.
The shale quarry was incredible, fossils in nearly every piece we turned over! Rob found a piece with Anomalocaris, one of the most intriguing fossils discovered, although he had to brush off the snow to unearth it! See extra. A remarkable place and worth the struggle, one of those 'once in a lifetime' experiences.
