RW's Daily Exposures

A Crimson Palm

Not a lot of time in a busy day and I needed to get my 5 miles in. So after my friend's retirement party, (why are so many people acting old - when their life is just starting over?), I went for a walk to the store and saw this on my way. It just struck out at me.

I often feel a lot younger than the folks around my age - I guess I'll always be that 16 year old trapped in an aging body. I feel sorry for some of my friends - too many attempts to be what they're not and giving up on living life. My two friends who are moving from the area with the husband retiring from being a high school biology teacher after 35 years are exceptions. They are ready to write a new chapter. I don't think the rest of their friends got it.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life - go embrace it with gusto (or take a nap - your choice).

Cheers!
