Heading for home.

Ready to depart,
Sheep-dogs have been visiting,
Heading home to bed.


My son with his sheep-dogs has been visiting. Reeba [on the left] is a huntaway, whist Lulu is a heading dog. A mixture of these two breeds is called a "head and hunt" .There is an old NZ farming joke where the shepherd is asked if his dog is "a head and hunt" ? If the dog is not well trained the answer to the question is " Yes he is. He heads for home and hunts for tucker".
