Go West!
Just fancied going somewhere today and as it started dull again we decided to go west to where all you western blippers have been showing off your sunshine.
We've had a super day. We didn't want to go any where too busy like the Lakes so we headed for Silverdale. What a lovely peaceful place on Morecambe Bay. The tide was out so no sign of the sea but we walked along the grassy shore and then back along the beach. People were arriving with picnics and to spend the afternoon as we left to head around the corner to Arnside.
Arnside is on the Kent Estuary which leads into Morecambe Bay. A bit bigger place and slightly busier but still wonderfully laid back. We walked along the promenade which is really just a path around the edge of the bay. I took the iconic railway bridge shot from here. We walked back to have lunch in the village.
Both are panorama shots; Silverdale at the top and Arnside at the bottom. Couldn't decide so I put them together.
A lovely day and we have vowed to visit more often as it's so near. It did make me think of our visit to the Arts and Crafts trail here a few years ago and seeing Gladders. Do hope he's ok as he hasn't posted for a while. His photographs of this area are stunning.
The sun came all the way home with us and it's a lovely evening, no doubt Yorkshire has had a lovely day too.
