Champion's Warf, Twickenham
Well, looking towards Eel Pie boatyard on Eel Pie Island. What a great name!
After delivering a package for friends to a venue in Richmond this afternoon, we walked to the river and enjoyed one of my favourite places. It was another beautiful day; not too hot but wonderful sunshine. The rowing boats were doing a steady trade and it was fascinating and painful to watch would-be rowers who really didn't have a clue...rowing backwards and pushing the oars through the water. SUCH an effort. I am grateful our dad took us on the lake in Dulwich Park and I have my rowing badge!!
Later we crossed the road bridge and walked the other side of the river path to Twickenham. Great for me to discover new places, gardens, streets. D however was delighted to see one of his first places of work still there and doing the same job!
It's good to be able to travel for free and although the journey is long, it is a gift and on beautiful summer days, even more so.
