The title and the text below is my original text for today’s blip. However on inspection of all my photos I decided that I prefer this one of the viaduct seen from the air as you fly in to land at a Edinburgh from the west.

The original blip to go with the text is now an extra.

On travel days the opportunities for blips can be limited.  As it turned out, I could have used the view of the concourse at Budapest Airport at 09:20 am which was a sea of people all trying to cram into a narrow entrance where we and a couple of other flights were trying to check in.  Nearly 90 minutes to get to the check in desk.  Despite being at the airport over 2 hours ahead of scheduled departure time, we made the gate with 2 minutes to spare.  Flight was fine - but getting to it was a problem.

Also, had a lovely view of the three bridges as we can into  Edinburgh from the west.

But instead this is my safety shot just after midnight showing the entrance foyer to our hotel for the past week,  I might describe it as quality compact. It had everything you needed (and a bit more)but designed in a way to optimise the use of space.  The breakfasts were brilliant; the location great and quiet close to transport and the staff extremely helpful (in numerous languages).   Would happily go back.
