Fortuitous Friday

Istanbul @ 19.20 and the outbound arteries are, as usual, blocked with those evacuating the city in a slow, slow, stop shunt shuffle that can last for hours. Tailbacks as far as the eye can see and further than the temper can tolerate, the daily routine for thousands of motorists in this metropolis 15+ million people.  We, on the other hand, were fortuitously on a quieter road in the glorious evening sunshine, having had a jolly three hours at a bar to celebrate Friday, nearly the end of the year, and Charlie's birthday. Yay
