A Grand Day Out

We thought it might be easy to go on the train to Kew.  It isn't.  Not for me.

But we got there.

Which was a bit of luck given how broken I felt this morning.

We reckoned that Kew would be big enough and tranquil enough for me not to be a spooked pony all day.  And i do like to wander round Botanical Gardens.

This a view of the main Temperate Glass House that has newly opened.  The biggest glass house in the world.  One of the extras is from up on the balcony.  I didn't take that.

The Garden is huge.  Absolutely enormous.  And it was possible to wander through parts where no other people were to be seen.  But to get to the flowering plants and all the prettiness, you have to share with people.  That was OK.  People at Kew are not rowdy types.

The only disappointment at Kew is the catering.  The Orangery could learn a lot from the Palmenhaus in Vienna.

However, the sun shone & I was with the woman I love most in the world. I can cope with that.  Not much else though.

Other Extras are plant loveliness.
